I guess you would have to call me a nomad of sorts. I was born in England, raised in Australia, spent 3 years working in Greece then met my Irish-Canadian husband (we were married in India!) and moved to Canada to raise our family. We started sailing the west coast in 1972 in a (very crowded) 22' Enterprise, moved up to a 26' Bayfield then built our own 34' Coast we named Maquinna after the CP boat of that name that carried my inlaws up and down the coast in the 40's and 50's.

For almost 32 years we cruised the beautiful west coast of British Columbia, learning the ecology, meeting and learning from the wonderful people who live there, and dodging the weather!

In 2021 we sold the sailboat and purchased a 57' semi-converted fish-packer on which we planned to retire. That boat, Shogun, is the model for Dan Connor's boat, Dreamspeaker.

I now divide my time between Canada and Mexico where I teach Creative Writing, deliver workshops, and write books! My next mystery, "Pale Mist Drifting", is now available.
